Albany County, Wyoming
Dedicated to brothers Oakes Ames and Oliver Ames, the monument is a four-sided, random ashlar pyramid, 60 feet square at the base and 60 feet high, constructed of light-colored native granite. It was completed in 1882.
Washakie County, Wyoming
This is the site of a battle to capture a band of Arapahoe Indians who were plundering and robbing small camps and trains. Captain Alfred Bates and the 2nd cavalry, with Chief Washakie and Shoshone Indians, attacked on July 4, 1874.
Douglas, Converse County, Wyoming

The Bozeman Trail was an overland route connecting the Oregon Trail to the gold rush territory of Montana. John Bozeman, among others, led the first group of about 2,000 settlers up the trail in 1864.

This was the site of the Burnt Ranch Stage and Pony Express Station. Indians attacked and burned this station in the 1860's, which gave it the name, "Burnt Ranch".
