Located within Independence National Historical Park, the Center is dedicated to the history and continuing relevance of the Constitution of the United States. The museum contains exhibits, artifacts and a theater.

The museum opened on July 4, 2003.

The original copy of the Constitution is not at the Center but at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.

The museum features a room full of life-sized sculptures of the 39 signers of the Constitution.
