Landmark Trivia

  • The landmark sits on the site of Fort Washington, lost to the British in 1776 during the Revolutionary War.
  • The last group of honorees elected to the Hall of Fame were Clara Barton, Luther Burbank and Andrew Carnegie. They were chosen in 1976.
  • The site was featured in the 2006 film "The Good Shepherd" as part of Yale University.
